What’s included in an SJU Dining Plan?

SJU Dining Plans include Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars, conveniently loaded onto your Hawk Card. All students with a dining plan have access to Campion Dining Hall plus Dining Dollars for use at all 8 SJU Dining locations across campus; Campion Food Court, P.O.D. Market, Starbucks, Einstein Bros. Bagels and all of our P.O.D. Express retail convenience store locations.


Swipes

Meal Swipes

Meal Swipes are included in your dining plan, Meal Swipes are used to enter Campion Dining Hall.  For the fall 2020 semester Meal Swipes will also be accepted at a satellite dining locations including Mandeville Dining- Room 123.  While some SJU Dining plans provide a weekly allowance of Meal Swipes, resetting every Monday, others provide a bundle of Meal Swipes at the start of each semester. Meal Swipes may not be used during semester breaks when the University is not in session.  Meal Swipe balances do not carry over from fall to spring semester and expire at the end of each semester.

Exchange

Meal Exchange

Students can use their Meal Swipes as a Meal Exchange outside of Campion Dining Hall in retail dining campus locations. A Meal Exchange is a combo meal including an entree, side item and beverage. For added flexibility during the fall 2020 semester ALL Meal Swipes can now be used as a Meal Exchange in Campion Food Court and in our P.O.D. Market & P.O.D. Express locations. Students can use their Meal Swipes as a Meal Exchange at Grille Works and the Hawk Wrap stations in Campion Food Court and for our Quick Eats grab and go offerings in all of these locations.


Dollars

Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars are funds that are included in your dining plan and can be used like a debit card at all SJU Dining locations.  Every time you use your Dining Dollars the amount of the transaction is deducted from your account balance; you may not spend more value than you have.  Dining Dollars may be used in select locations during semester breaks.  Dining Dollar balances carry over from the fall to spring semester and expire at the end of the spring semester.

Add-On Dining Dollars

Add-On Dining Dollars offer a convenient way for students to make purchases on campus at all SJU Dining locations.  Add-On Dining Dollars are pre-paid and added to your Hawk Card. Students and parents can load and reload Dining Dollars anytime throughout the semester with or without an SJU Dining Plan.  Add-On Dining Dollar balances carry over every semester and every year.

Hawk Cash

Hawk Cash offers a convenient way for students to make purchases on-campus and off-campus. All SJU Dining locations accept Hawk Cash however dining plans do not include Hawk Cash. Hawk Cash is prepaid and added to your Hawk Card.  Students and parents can load and reload Hawk Cash anytime throughout the semester.  Hawk Cash balances carry over every semester and every year, terms & conditions apply.

Good Uncle

New to campus this year, Good Uncle is a food deliver app that delivers quality food fast with no fees for those late-night and off-peak hours.  All of our dining plans have the option to use up to $35 Dining Dollars per semester for Good Uncle delivery.

Home Chef Meal Kits

Eat on campus, cook at home.  A new option this year for students on the 25 Block Plan is $120 voucher towards Home Chef Meal Kits.  This is an additional $50 value for students at no additional cost. Home Chef Meal Kit FAQ’s are available in the SJU Dining Terms & Conditions.

What SJU Dining Plan can I choose?

Students residing in a first year residence hall can select the Weekly 19 and Weekly 19 Plus Plans which includes access to Campion Dining Hall plus Dining Dollars.  Students residing in a second year residence hall or campus house can select the Weekly 19 and Weekly 19 Plus Plans or the Weekly 10 Plan.  Students residing in apartments or townhouses can purchase any of our plans however are not required to purchase a plan.

How does an SJU Dining Plan work?

Dining plans are valid during the semester they are purchased in and added to the student account each semester. Dining plans are an annual plan, the plan selected for the fall semester will automatically renew for the spring semester.

How can I access my accounts?

There are three ways you can access your SJU Dining Plan and Hawk Cash account balances:

  • Register your Hawk Card for 24/7 online account.
  • Request a campus card balance receipt be printed from a dining services cashier
  • Visit the SJU Dining Services office located in Campion Food Court, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm

July 1, 2020 | Select a dining plan by this date in order to for the cost to appear on your first student tuition.  Selecting a dining plan by this date will also help maximize the benefit of being enrolled in a campus payment plan.

August 17, 2020 | Last day to change your fall dining plan, plans can still be added throughout the semester.

August 21, 2020 | Dining plans begin for fall semester.

November 9, 2020 | First day to sign up for new student spring semester dining plans.

November 24, 2020 | Dining plans end for fall semester.

January 12, 2021 | Dining plans begin for spring semester.

March 22, 2021 | First day to sign up for fall 2021 semester dining plans.

May 8, 2021 | Dining plans end for spring semester, dining dollars expire.
