Meal Plan Terms and Conditions
All Hawk Dining Company Plans and funds are for the personal use of the owner of the account only and are non-transferable. Dining plans and funds cannot be used as a gift card or gift certificate. Dining plans are valid during the semester they are purchased in and added to the student account each semester. Dining plans are an annual plan, the plan selected for the fall semester will automatically renew for the spring semester.
Meal Swipe balances do not carry over from fall to spring semester, are non-refundable, non-transferrable and expire at the end of each semester. Dining Dollar balances carry over from the fall to spring semester and expire at the end of the spring semester.
Except as otherwise expressly stated in these terms, all Hawk Dining Company Plans and funds are non-refundable and will expire on the last day of enrollment or on the last day of the current semester.
Cancellations & Refund Policy
- First-Year Students: All first-year students living on campus will be automatically enrolled in the All-Access meal plan. They may upgrade to the All-Access Plus plan at any time.
- Upperclassmen: Students living in Houses or Moore Hall may choose from any available meal plan.
- Meal Plan Changes:
- Students may change their meal plan selection—based on their housing assignment—at no charge through August 18, 2025.
- Requests to downgrade a meal plan between August 19, 2025, and the first board day will incur a $100 administrative fee.
- After board days begin, downgrade requests will follow the meal plan refund schedule.
- Withdrawals: Students who leave the university will receive a prorated refund based on the later of their official departure date or last meal plan usage date, in accordance with the refund schedule.
- Meal Plan Use: Meal plans include Swipes, Meal Exchanges, and/or Dining Dollars.
- Refund Deadline: No changes or refunds will be processed after the designated refund period ends.
- Spring Semester Policy:
- Meal plans are annual contracts and will automatically roll over to the Spring semester.
- Spring semester billing occurs in early December 2025.
- Requests for Spring meal plan changes will be reviewed after billing begins. Downgrades are subject to a $100 administrative fee.
- Students may upgrade their meal plans at any time without charge.
- Changes Due to Housing Moves:
- Students moving out of meal plan-required housing must notify Dining Services if they wish to change their meal plan.
- Refunds or adjustments will be subject to the refund schedule.
- Cancellations & Exemptions:
- While cancellation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Dining Services Committee, approvals are uncommon and only granted under exceptional circumstances.
- Exemption requests due to medical reasons must go through the Office of Disability Services.
- A consultation with the Campus Dietitian is required.
- Supporting documentation must be submitted annually.
- Medical exemption requests must be submitted within the first two weeks of the semester.
Fall Semester Refunds 2025
August 19th to August 23rd, 2025
$100 service fee for downgrades and cancellations.
August 24th to September 2nd, 2025
Dining Plan Refund 90%
Full refund on all unused dining dollars, minus a $100 service fee.
September 3rd to September 9th, 2025
Dining Plan Refund 80%
Full refund on all unused dining dollars, minus a $100 service fee.
September 10th to September 16th, 2025
Dining Plan Refund 60%
Full refund on all unused dining dollars, minus a $100 service fee.
September 17th to September 23rd, 2025
Dining Plan Refund 40%
Full refund on all unused dining dollars, minus a $100 service fee.
September 24th to September 30th, 2025
Dining Plan Refund 20%
Full refund on all unused dining dollars, minus a $100 service fee.
No refund for dining plan allowances thereafter.
Spring Semester Refunds 2026
December 2025 to January 10th, 2026
$100 service fee for downgrades and cancellations.
January 11th to January 20th, 2026
Dining Plan Refund 90%
Full refund on all unused dining dollars, minus a $100 service fee.
January 21st to January 27th, 2026
Dining Plan Refund 80%

January 28th to February 3rd, 2026

February 4th to February 10th, 2026
